Bishop’s House Policies

Reservations are required for both weekdays, as well as, your weekend getaway in Maryland. A two-night minimum stay, per room, is required for all guest rooms year round for both weekday and weekend stays, with a three-night minimum stay required for the Labor Day, and Columbus Day Weekends.

We will accommodate guests on an overnight basis, but payment for a two-night stay (three-night stay for holiday & special event weekends) is required.

The Bishop’s House will be closing for the season beginning November 19, 2023, through February 29, 2024. We will be accepting reservations during this period for 2024.

Payment:

To guarantee reservations, a deposit equal to 50% of stay is required. All deposits are applied to the last night of reserved stay. Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved regardless of actual arrival date or in the event of early departure. We are happy to accept on-line bank checks, personal checks, traveler’s checks, money orders, (domestic and international), and cash to guarantee your reservation. We regret that we are unable to accept credit cards, at this time, to guarantee your reservation, but will accept credit cards at check-out in settlement of your stay. All major credit cards are accepted.

Check-in time is 4:00 – 5:00 PM and Check-out time is 11:00 AM. We are happy to accommodate arrivals after 5 PM with prior arrangements. You must contact us should you plan to arrive later than 5 PM, so that we may make arrangements to accommodate you.

Gift Certificates For Special Occasions and Events:

The Bishop’s House is the perfect place for a honeymoon or romantic getaway on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Gift Certificates may be purchased for stays of two or more nights. The total amount due for an overnight and two night stay the Clintonia’s Room, the Governor’s Room or the Sunrise Room is $473.00, which is inclusive of the 6% Maryland State Tax and the 4% Talbot County Accommodations Tax. The total amount due for an overnight and two night stay in the Garden View Room is $451.00, which is inclusive of the 6% Maryland State Tax and the 4% Talbot County Accommodations Tax. Personal checks, (drawn in US Dollars on a US Bank), travelers checks, postal money orders, (domestic and international), cash, and credit cards will be accepted for the purchase of Gift Certificates.

Cancellation Policy:

Your deposit, less a $35 processing charge, is refundable if your reservation is cancelled at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival time.

Room Rates:

Room rates quoted are per night and are in U.S. Dollars, and include our sumptuous breakfast, but do not include the 6% Maryland State Tax and 4% Talbot County Accommodations Tax. Guest room rates for single or double occupancy per room are $205 and $215 per night, plus taxes. Room rates are subject to change prior to reservation acceptance.

Occupancy:

All guest rooms are rated for a maximum of double occupancy, perfect for a romantic getaway. We do not provide nor do we permit cots, rollaway, air mattresses, or bed rolls for guest rooms due to our strict adherence to fire code policy.

Restrictions:

Regrettably unable to accommodate children under 12 years of age. No pets, please. The Bishop’s House is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted outside only.
